Half Way to 1000

So the 1st of July is here which makes it closer to 2018 than we are 2016. Wow, I know. It also means it’s half way through our little challenge of 1,000 miles in the calendar year. So thought it was time to check my current mileage and to see how Harry is getting on.

With my calf tear in January I started slowly and was already 20 miles behind schedule but in the last three months I have done 90 miles plus, which is more than our 83 mile monthly target. My current total is 524 miles. Just slightly ahead.

Harry started at blistering pace and although in July he has had a low mileage month he has still racked up 604 miles. But talking to him, he has Amsterdam marathon in October so the last 396 miles will be done before you know it. Oh to be in my 20s and have no children again.

As for my target, it’s a little more precarious, I have a summer holiday and Christmas which are slow weeks, plus I have been lucky and only had one injury this year, so with only 24 miles to play with it’s going to be closer! Which makes it more interesting than Harry’s challenge.

Next post will be closer to December 31st, look out for it.
